The hostel accommodation is mandatory for all students at IISER, with fees included in the semester charges, approximately Rs. 6,630 per month. For the first year, rooms are triple-sharing, and from the second year onwards, they are double-sharing. Each room is equipped with essentials like a bed, almirah, study table, chair, and mosquito-netted windows.
The hostels are maintained well, with regular cleaning and sufficient ventilation. Facilities include Wi-Fi, washing machines on every floor, and geysers in bathrooms. Mess food is highly rated with a diverse, rotating menu catering to both vegetarian and non-vegetarian preferences, and is considered superior to many other college hostels. Hostels have minimal restrictions, with opposite-sex visits allowed outside 11 am to 11 pm.
The campus also offers various recreational activities and ample scope for student engagement.
