About IMU

Indian Maritime University (IMU), Kolkata was recognized as a central university in the year 2008, under the Ministry of Shipping, GOI. In addition to its flagship 4-year B.Tech. course in Marine Engineering, it also offers PG (M.Tech. and MBA) courses, and other industry related short-term courses. The institute conducts its own entrance examination (IMU - CET) for admission to both UG and PG courses. IMU Kolkata Admission

Admission to UG and PG courses is done on the basis of cut-off in IMU-CET entrance examination conducted by the university. Admission criteria for B.Tech. Marine Engineering is minimum of 60% marks in PCM and minimum of 50% in English in 10+2 and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for M.Tech. Marine Engineering and Management is 60% marks in BE/B.Tech. in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Naval Architecture and have qualified IMU-CET. Admission criteria for MBA International Transportation & Logistics Management is 50% marks in graduation and qualified IMU-CET. Admission into other short-term courses will be based on the strict technical capabilities of the candidates as mandated by the university from time to time.

The admission application process is entirely online.

Fill the online application for the desired courses and upload the document scan copies if needed.
Register yourself to the entrance exam if it is needed separately.
Appear for IMU-CET.
If selected, submit the documents for verification and pay the fees.

IMU Kolkata Facilities

It has a campus area of 33 acres and provides all the necessary facilities to its students as given below.

Sports space- Institute has a tennis court, playground, gymnasium, basketball court, and an Olympic-size swimming pool.
Hostel and Mess- There are separate hostels for girls and boys with facilities like T.V. rooms, mess, and study rooms. Hostels have an intake capacity of more than 800.
Medical facility- 24 * 7 medical facilities are available for the students in the campus.
Ship- The institute is home to a ship with a marine propulsion engine to provide hands on training to the cadets.
Miscellaneous Facilities- The campus has some facilities like laboratories, library, and an auditorium with a capacity of 1000.

First Clear IMU CET exam You will get it on imu. edu.in Reservation for sc st and obc. If u get 10 % lesser marks than the general category students you are going to be get selected like other colleges The level of the exam needs to be tougher and rest of everything is fine like counselling and documents verification which are done by well-certified college faculty

Here admission can be taken on the bases of the imu cet exam .that is Indian maritime University's common entrance test .every year it is conducted on CBT mode online. According to a decent rank, you will get admission to this prestigious institute. The fee for the Imucet is 700. 12th pass with PCM more than 60% can apply for Imucet. The rank should be within 1000.
