Government Medical College (GMC), Patiala was established on September 29, 1950. It is the second oldest medical college in the State of Punjab. The college is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. It offers MBBS, B.Sc, MD & MS courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the field of Medicine. Apart from the basic clinical departments, some superspeciality departments are also functioning in the GMC, Patiala.

Applications for admissions are required to be submitted online.
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 and Bachelor’s degree in Science to secure admission in UG and PG courses, respectively.
- Admissions will be granted on the basis of National and State Level Medical Entrance Exams such as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), NEET-PG and Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET).
- GMC, Patiala also offers Diploma courses. The admission is granted on the basis of marks in the qualifying examination.

GMC Patiala Diploma Admission 2023
Government Medical College (GMC), Patiala offers Diploma courses in three disciplines for which the annual intake is 111 students. The admissions to these courses are based on merit list issued by the college. Candidates must have passed Higher Secondary Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology as compulsory subjects with 50% aggregate marks. For the candidates belonging to SC/ ST, the minimum qualifying marks in PCB is 40%.

- Candidates selected at the time of counselling have to report for medical examination and fee deposition on the dates issued by the counselling board.

GMC, Patiala offers MBBS and B.Sc (both Medical and Nursing) courses at undergraduate level. Selection is done on the basis of candidates’ performance in NEET conducted by CBSE followed by the National Level counselling. Candidates with a valid rank in PPMET are also eligible to apply.

User Facts:
- The candidates must be at least 17 years of age on December 1.
- A candidate may attempt NEET for maximum three times.
- Initially, the counselling will be conducted online and then offline. The candidates who will be selected during the online counseling process will have to visit the allotted college on a provisional basis.

GMC, Patiala MD & MS Admission 2023
MD and MS courses are offered under 21 disciplines. Admissions will be based on the merit list prepared by the college on the basis of single window entrance exam i.e. NEET-PG.

GMC, Patiala Application Process 2023
Candidates can apply for B.Sc, MBBS, MD and MS courses offered by GMC by following the below listed steps:
- Visit the official website of CBSE NEET.
- Select the “Apply NEET” link.
- Fill the online application form and note down the Registration Number and Application ID after filling the mandatory details.
- Upload the scanned copies of signature, thumb impression and photograph.
- Pay the application fee by Credit Card, Debit Card or through Net Banking.
- Take the printout of the confirmation page for future reference.
- After the declaration of result, the candidates will have to apply for the state-wise or university-wise counselling procedure.
