Acharya Prafulla Chandra College (APCC) offers admissions in the disciplines of science and arts both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Students interested in pursuing UG courses such as B.A, B.Sc and BBA must have passed 10+2 in General or Vocational Stream conducted by West Bengal Council of HSE or equivalent.

The college offers a plethora of conventional degree courses in B.A and B.Sc. It also offers professional courses of BBA, B.A Advertising Sales Promotion and Sales Management and B.Sc Industrial Fish & Fisheries. The selection of candidates will be solely done on merit. The college will conduct counselling based on merit declared on its official website.

- Candidates who have secured 55% marks in the concerned or related subject in class 12th examination or 50% marks in aggregate in all four subjects shall also be eligible for admissions into Honours courses.
- For General and Major Courses a candidate must secure minimum 45% marks in aggregate in 10+2 or in an equivalent examination with English as one of the main subjects.
- Marks obtained in Environmental Education shall not be taken into account for calculating the aggregate marks.
- Those applying for Honours in Electronics or Computer Science must secure at least 45% marks in both Physics & Mathematics; for Honours in Physics a candidates must secure at least 45% marks in Mathematics.
- A student applying for Zoology/Botany Honours must have studied Chemistry as a subject; in case of Chemistry Honours minimum 40% marks in both physics and Mathematics are required.

APCC offers six courses in M.Sc and 2 courses in M.A at PG level. The duration of these courses is 2 years and admission would be offered on the basis of the merit of marks obtained in the last qualifying examination of Honours course.

- In case of M.Sc Microbiology, 60% of the total seats will be filled through merit by students from the colleges affiliated to West Bengal State University (WBSU) only.
- The remaining 40% of seats are reserved for open competition among the graduates from all other universities /colleges including the graduates from WBSU.
- The selection to these seats shall be done through merit of marks obtained in last qualifying examination and written test conducted by Department of Microbiology.
- For Electronic Science, graduates with Honours in Physics may also apply.
- Admissions will be conferred during counselling after submission of relevant documents and admission fees.
