Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS) was established in 1968 and is located in Mangalore. MCODS is one of the constituent colleges of Manipal Academy for Higher Education (MAHE).
Dental Council of India recognized Manipal College of Dental Sciences in 1991. Thus, following the guidelines set by the council for admissions to various programs of Dentistry. Also, MCODS follows the ISO 9001:2015 standards for imparting quality healthcare education.
MCODS is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade and follows a comprehensive and competency based curriculum in all its programs. Different programs like BDS, MDS, PG Certificate, PG Diploma & Certificate are offered for admissions.
Admission applications are accepted through the official website of MCODS with an application fee of INR 600. Entrance applications are also available online.
To be eligible for BDS admissions, students must have passed 10+2 with PCB and English. Students are also required to qualify for NEET UG entrance exam.
Students willing to take admission in MDS or PG Certificate programs, must have qualified BDS program and also qualify for NEET PG entrance exam.
Seat allotment and counselling for BDS, MDS and PG Certificate programs is through DSHC or MCC.
Admission eligibility for PG Diploma and various certificate programs are based on scores in previous qualifying degree programs like BDS/MBBS/B.Sc. in Biological Sciences. Seat allotment is based upon merit list.
Post graduation more than 50% of the students qualify for the state postgraduate entrance. There are student exchange programs as well as MCODS has signed MoU’s with US universities.

How to Apply for Manipal College of Dental Sciences?

Step 1- Registration & Choice Filling:
- Candidates can log on to https://mcc.nic.in to complete the registration process and fill in the choice of course.
Step 2- Online counseling & Seat Allotment:
- This is taken care of by DGHS / MCC based on entrance scores and scores in the previous examination.
Step 3- Reporting to the Institute:
- After the merit list is released, students can go to their respective institutions to complete the necessary admission formalities.
NEET Exam
This exam is conducted by NTA for those students who wish to get admission in medical programs.
- The exam is conducted offline or pen and paper mode.
- Questions are multiple choice questions (MCQ’s) where one out of four options is correct.
- NEET exam is 3 hours long and carries questions in:
- Physics: 45 questions
- Chemistry: 45 questions
- Biology: 90 questions (Zoology: 45 questions; Botany: 45 questions)
- Each question carries 4 marks for each correct answer.
- 1 mark is deducted per wrong answer. But no mark is deducted for unattempted questions.
