Library: The Institute Library is well-stocked with books and journals on management, computers, fashion, textiles, and apparel. It also has scanning, reprographic, and wi-fi internet connectivity capabilities. AIFD has subscriptions to several national and international journals and magazines. The subscription online fashion forecasting service, WGSN, is also accessible from the library. The Institute is a subscriber to fashion-related e-books and e-magazines.
Patternmaking & Sewing Lab: There are two labs, one on the first floor and one on the ground floor, each with 30 industrial sewing machines. Students receive practical instruction on these devices. Furthermore, computerized sewing machines are available for specialized tasks.
CAD/IT Lab: The CAD Lab has over 50 PC systems including 40 PC systems exclusively for design applications with software like – Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator and Corel Draw which enhance the illustration skills of the students. 20 PC systems are earmarked for specialized training in GERBER, CAD and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning).
Quality Control Lab: All necessary quality tests for fiber, yarn, fabric, clothing, and accessories can be carried out in the QC lab. The lab is equipped with top-of-the-line equipment that meets industry standards, and students receive training on all of it so they are prepared to take on responsibility as soon as they enter the workforce.
Visual Merchandizing & Draping Lab: AIFD is the only Fashion Institute in the country to have a full-fledged Visual Merchandising Lab. This includes VM Windows, with mannequins, spotlights and prop-making materials.
Fashion Photography Lab: Given that fashion photography is becoming a crucial component of fashion curricula and is necessary for e-commerce and fashion styling, the institute has established a cutting-edge photography lab with the newest tools and cameras.
Cafeteria: The cafeteria is situated within the campus and offers wholesome food at competitive charges. The student mess committee decides the menu, taking into consideration the demands of the students.
For the B.Sc. FAD course, there are currently nine full-time faculty members. The Prime Minister's Scholarship Program was launched for the 2006–07 academic year. To support dependent wards of former Coast Guard and service members as well as their widows pursuing higher technical and professional education (below officer rank only). A total number of 5500 students will be selected equally for boys & girls (ie. 2750 each)
