National Centre for Cell Science - [NCCS] is a research institute in Pune city of western India state, Maharashtra. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule University.

NCCS offers PhD in Modern Biology subject. The course is designed for those students who have an interest in research studies and want to pursue a further degree in the same.

To apply to NCCS Pune, a candidate must have completed post-graduation in any science stream.

Postgraduate candidates with a valid scholarship from CSIR/ DBT/ ICMR/ UGC/ BINC can apply.

Selected candidates from the interview process will be provided fellowship from NCCS Pune.
Students must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent GPA in their post-graduation.
They should also be not more than 28 years of age.

National Centre for Cell Science - [NCCS], Pune Ph. D Admissions

NCCS Pune conducts admissions in PhD course in the field of Modern Biology. Students who have completed their MSc in any science subject can apply for this course. They must have obtained minimum 50% marks in their PG studies.

Students should have any valid fellowship from CSIR/ DBT/ ICMR/ UGC/ BINC. Those who do not have any fellowship should have given the entrance test JGEEBILS conducted in the month of December 2016. Candidates who have cleared this exam will be called for interview.

Key Points for Ph. D Admissions:

Students should not be more than 28 years of age.
SC/ ST/ PH/Women candidates are given relaxation of 5 years whereas OBC students are given 3 years age relaxation.
Students who have qualified only for Lectureship in CSIR-UGC (NET) and the ‘Project list of ICMR’ are not eligible to apply for this course.
