Government Polytechnic Jamui at Bihar was established to impart higher education to the scholars of the rural and suburban areas of Jamui. The college offers diploma degree in the major disciplines of Engineering. The college started its first semester exams in 2018. It admits students by their ranking secured in Diploma Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE), which is administered by BCECE Board, Bihar State Government. During the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the Civil Engineering department of the college had organized online “Quiz cum Awareness Program” to keep the students motivated.

The college admits students through Diploma Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (DCECE) conducted by BCECE Board, Govt. of Bihar. 

The students must have 35% in 10th or equivalent for regular admission eligibility. Also, the ITI or vocational courses pass students are directly admitted in Second year (3rd Semester) through (DCECE (L.E.)). It is also conduct by BCECE Board. Govt. of Bihar
