About DSM
The Delhi Music Society laid the foundation of Delhi School of Music in 1966. The school teaches western classical music and is among the premier institutions in the country. It is a non-profit institution that caters 1300 to 1400 students annually and provides courses on musical instruments (Piano, Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Recorder, Keyboard, Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet, Drums), singing and dance. DSM offers only two courses i.e. Certificate in Music (Hindustani/ Vocal) and Diploma in Music. There is no entrance exam for the admission. Delhi School of Music Admission
Admissions at Delhi School of Music Delhi is merit-based. An applicant with a 10+2/ Diploma/ PG Diploma/ Graduate/ PG degree is eligible to apply for admission at the college.
How to apply?
Students seeking admission to the institute must fill the online admission form. Below is the online admission process for the courses offered:
- Visit the official website of the institute.
- Fill the admission form with all the required information and documents.
- Then proceed to send the application form through the e-mail to the official e-mail address of the institute (admission.delhischoolofmusic@gmail.com).
- The school authorities will contact the candidate to discuss and choose the best option of course.
- The application fee is INR 1500 and other INR 500 are charged for annual maintenance. Payment can be done either through online mode or offline through Demand Draft.
The school later declares the list of shortlisted candidates and these selected applicants will have to appear in the institute on a given date to confirm the seat.
Following attested copies need to be submitted at the time of admission:
- 10th and 12th mark sheets
- Character and Migration Certificate
- Graduation mark sheets
- Recent passport size photographs
- Work Experience Certificate (if any)
- Demand Draft for payment of fees or receipt of online payment

Delhi School of Music Faculty
The college has experienced and well-qualified faculties. There are 17 Piano, 6 Keyboard, 5 Voice, 5 Violin, 8 Guitar, 2 Drum, 2 Flute, and 1 Ballet faculty at the institute. The students attending instrumental music classes are taught individually by the teacher while dance students are taught in groups, voice classes may be held either individually or in groups. The school makes sure that faculty is responsible and imparts the best knowledge to its pupils.
