IIT (ISM) Dhanbad Admissions 2024: Selection Criteria, Eligibility, Course, Fees, Cutoff, Entrance

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers M.Tech courses with specialization in Industrial Engineering and Management. The admission is offered in 3 modes i.e Gate candidates, IIT B.Tech Graduate candidates, and Sponsored candidates. 

ISM Dhanbad M.Tech Eligibility 

For GATE Category:

• It is required to have a B.Tech/B.E/Masters (Science/Arts/ Commerce) degree with 6.0 CGPA or 60% marks. 
• A Valid GATE score 

For IIT Graduates:

• Candidates must have a minimum 8.0 in B.Tech degree.
• IIT Graduates are exempted from GATE score requirements.

For Sponsored Category: 

• Candidates must be employees of academic institutions/PSU/Govt. R&D organizations/Govt.recognized private R&D organizations/industry with minimum 2 years experience. 
• Candidates must be sponsored by employers of the working organization. 
• Candidates from private firms must upload Salary Bank Account statement/ EPF statement along with application form.
• Undertaken from the employer to permit candidate campus stay during program period.
• Candidates must have a minimum 60% in M.Tech.
• Valid GATE score
• Sponsored candidates with 8.0 CGPA in B.Tech from Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) are exempted from GATE score.

Key Notes: 

• 5% relaxation in minimum eligibility marks at ST/SC/PWD category.

ISM Dhanbad M.Tech Selection Criteria

For GATE Candidates:

• GATE COAP declares GATE Cut off for IE&M specialisation in IIT Dhanbad.
• It is followed by counseling process by COAP for IE&M seats at IIT Dhanbad.
• Lastly, IIT Dhanbad confirms admission after physical reporting and verification of the candidates.

For IIT Graduates:

• Candidates are shortlisted based on CGPA marks in qualifying examination and Departmental Review.

For Sponsored candidates:

• Sponsored Candidates are selected based on Departmental Review and Recommendation.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers PhD In Industrial Engineering & Management and Management for maximum 5 years with institute Assistance. Candidates with GATE/NET/CAT/GMAT/Appropriate National Level Examination qualification can apply for the programs.

ISM Dhanbad PhD Eligibility

• Candidates for IEM Discipline must have passed a Master's or B.Tech degree in Industrial Engineering and Management /Industrial Engineering / Production Engineering / Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering /Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• For Management Discipline, MBA/ PG Diploma/Master’s in Economics / Commerce / Psychology/Industrial Engg. and Management / Industrial Management / Industrial Engg. / Production Engg// CA / CS / ICWA qualification holders are eligible.
• Candidates with a PG Degree must have a minimum 60% aggregate score.
• Candidates with B.Tech must have a minimum 70% aggregate score.
• Valid GATE/NET/CAT/GMAT/Appropriate National Level Examination Score.

Key Notes: 

• Candidates must have passed qualifying exams in regular or full time mode. 
• IIT Master’s or B.Tech Graduates with 8.30 CGPA are exempted from test score requirement.

ISM Dhanbad PhD Selection Criteria

• ISM Dhanbad will declare shortlisted candidates for Interview and Screening test (if required).
• Selection will committee will prepare the final list based on the interview performance of the candidates only.

• IIT (ISM) Dhanbad offers Institute assistance to full-time Ph. D. students with GATE qualification. 
• This assistance is offered for a maximum of five years based on performance on an annual basis. 
• For the first 2 years of registration, IIT dhanbad offers INR 31000 per month.
• For next 3 years, it is increased upto INR 35000 per month.
