Eligibility criteria for B.Tech
- Candidates who have completed 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as main subjects from a recognized board of education.
- Students need to score a minimum of 45% aggregate in their 10+2 and that would make them eligible for admission at CGEC.
Selection Criteria for B.Tech
- Just like any other engineering college, the JEE exam is the key factor for any student’s admission to the CGEC.
- The rank a student secures in the WBJEE exam will decide about his/her selection in the college. Moreover, the ranking also decides the specialization under B.Tech.
- Once the admission is confirmed through email, the student’s documents will have to be submitted to the college admission committee for verification.
- As soon as the documents are verified, the student will get a call by the college regarding the payment of the admission fee.
- The entire procedure for student selection into the course ends as soon as the candidate pays the admission fees along with other miscellaneous charges.

Candidates seeking admission can apply through online mode by visiting the official website of the university. Admission will be through e-Counselling conducted by the West Bengal Technical University. Following are the steps to apply:
- Visit the official website of the University/ WBJEE.
- Candidates should have to register themselves on the WBJEE counselling portal.
- After that login with credentials and click on the ‘Apply online’ link under the ‘Admission’ section on the homepage.
- Candidate has to fill the admission form with correct details
- Only one application must be submitted for each course.
- Applicants need to upload a soft copy/ scanned copy of his/ her passport size photograph at the time of filling the online application from.
- Finally submit the form and take a print out for the same for future reference.
