Institute of Home Economics (IHE) is a public and constituent college for girls only affiliated with the University of Delhi. The building is spread in the area of 3.5 acres which consists of manicured lawns, spacious lecture theatres and laboratories. Institute of Home Economics admission to all courses (except PG Diploma) is based on scores obtained in the CUET examination. Students who want to take admission to the PG Diploma program must have a graduate degree in relevant stream with at least 55-60% marks. The IHE admission process includes appearing for the CUET examination and then appearing in the CSAS seat allotment. Registrations for admission at Institute of Home Economics start after CUET result declarations. Candidates must select Delhi University while filling out the CUET application can register themselves on the DU CSAS portal and choose the college and course preferences. The entire selection process is done via the DU CSAS portal for both UG and PG courses in multiple rounds. The admission process is as follows:
Step 1: Appear for the Entrance Examination
IHE admissions for all courses at affiliated colleges, faculties, and departments are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The table below lists the entrance exam accepted for various courses at Delhi University:
Step 2: Registration on DU CSAS Portal and Filling of Courses and College Preferences
Candidates who qualify for the entrance examination must register on the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Portal of Delhi University for the seat allotment. Once the registration is done, candidates will be asked to fill in their college and course preferences.
Step 3: Seat Allocation
The seat allocation will be done in multiple rounds for all programs. Seats are allocated based on scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) or other national-level tests, combination of college and program chosen, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.
Step 4: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission
Candidates can check their seat allotment results by logging into Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) dashboard. Upon acceptance of seat, the college will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the admission fees.
