Fakir Chand College, South 24 Parganas Admission 2024: Fees, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Process, Merit List, Application Form

The college offers three-year degree courses of B.A in six specializations, BSc in eight specializations and B.Com. The selection will be affected on the merit of marks secured in class 12^th qualifying examination. B.A General and BSc General Courses are also offered in a number of subject combination.

To be eligible the minimum marks in required in class 12^th or equivalent is 50% in aggregate and 45% in the subject (or in the related subject) in which a candidate is seeking admissions.

The eligibility to apply for UG courses will be as given below:

• A candidate, who fails to secure 50% in aggregate but obtained at least 55% in the subject (or in the related subject) in HS/equivalent, will be eligible for apply for honors.
• If a subject is not studied in the HS/equivalent but is intended to be taken as honors, the applicant must obtain least 50% in aggregate (top-4) in the qualifying examinations.
• SC/ST candidates will be eligible to apply for honors if he/she obtains at least 40% in aggregate (top-4) or 40% in the subject (or in the related subject) in HS/equivalent.
• In order to take up Honors in Education, the subjects Psychology/Philosophy/ Mathematics/Sociology/Economics/Political Science/History are to be treated as allied subject.

The college offers two years of B.Ed course in nine specializations to the candidates with a total intake of 50. The minimum eligibility for students are as follows:

• Deputed: Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree or any other equivalent qualification with minimum 50% marks from recognized university. Candidates will be selected on the basis of the period of approved service in the secondary schools.
• Fresher: Candidates with atleast 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree/Master’s degree or equivalent are eligible to apply. 

Selection to B.Ed program is done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Merit for valid in-service candidates will be made on the basis of their teaching experience. Candidates can apply online through the official website of the college before the last date. 

The final merit point of eligible candidates will be formulated after giving weightage to the following criteria:

1. Secondary level - 10%
2. Higher Secondary level - 20%
3. Graduation level - 10% (Pass) or 30% (Hons)
4. Post-graduation level - 35%
5. M.Phil - 3 marks
6. Ph.D - 5 marks (If both M.Phil. and Ph.D. degree is secured by candidates then marks for Ph.D. will be taken into consideration)

The other courses offered by the college at PG level include courses in M.A, MSc and M.Com. The admissions to the courses are done on the basis of merit of marks obtained in bachelor’s degree in aggregate.
