About Sonarpur Mahavidyalaya
Sonarpur Mahavidyalaya, West Bengal affiliated with University of Calcutta offers various undergraduate programs under the departments of Science, Arts, Music, and Commerce. The college is recognized by UGC and has accreditation from the NAAC.
Admission to the courses is on the basis of merit scored in the last qualifying exam. The candidate who will take up an honors course in a subject must secure at least 50% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the last qualifying examination. Students passing 10+2 from Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya or National Open School recognized by the Distant Learning Council are also eligible to apply.
The college conducts conferences, seminars, and guest lectures on a regular basis. A well-equipped library, computer lab, and laboratory are open for all the students. There are a total of 30 professors in all the subject streams. The group of faculty is experienced and supportive of the education of the students.
The college provides scholarships that are available under the government of West Bengal. Scholarship schemes such as post-matric scholarship for minority students and merit cum scholarship are some of the scholarships offered by the college.

Sonarpur Mahavidyalaya Scholarships
Sonarpur Mahavidyalaya offers financial assistance to the deserving candidates in the form of scholarship schemes and education loans. The schemes provide financial help to students for pursuing higher education in West Bengal. Some of the scholarship schemes are:
- Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to the deserving students who belong to economically backward families. The candidate should belong to a family whose annual income is not more than INR 2,50,000. The scholarship can be availed by the candidate based on the availability of the fund and the merit list.

The annual income of the family of the candidate should not exceed INR 2,00,000. A maximum amount of INR 16,500 is given to the students.
