GIMT Guwahati Admission 2024: Dates, Eligibility, Selection Criteria

GIMT Guwahati offers a full-time Bachelor's degree in Technology with a duration of 4 Years. The course has 5 specializations and 240 students intake in total. The college also offers lateral entry to the course.

Eligibility Criteria 

• Candidates must have passed in the higher secondary education recognized by Assam Higher Secondary Education or equivalent with PCM as its subjects.
• The marks in higher secondary should be at least 45% (40% for reserved categories).

• For B.Tech Lateral admission, candidates must have a diploma degree with at least 45% marks in relevant subjects. 

Selection Criteria 

• The selection of B.Tech. programs will be based on the marks obtained by the students in CEE-200 or JEE Main 2021. 
• Counseling sessions will be conducted. 
• For CEE, the counseling date, time, and venue will be notified by the Government of Assam or the authorities. 
• The JEE Main counseling will be conducted at the GIMT Azara campus on the date declared in the newspaper.
• The seats will be allotted based on seats available. 

How to Apply for B.Tech?

For applying to B.Tech programs, candidates are required to apply for either CEE Assam or JEE Main. 

• The application process of CEE Assam is as follow: 
• The application mode of CEE Assam is Online. 
• Candidates can visit the official website and fill the application form after registering themselves.
• After filling the form, they need to upload a passport size color photo. 
• After form Submission, they would need to take a hardcopy of Challan. 
• This Challan can be deposited in any SBI branch. 

GIMT Guwahati offers BBA as an undergraduate course. The course is a three-year long full-time program. Following are the course details: 

Eligibility Criteria 

• The candidates who secured at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in higher secondary education with Science/ Commerce streams are eligible.
• For BBA admissions, a three-years diploma degree in Engineering with 45% minimum marks (40% for reserved categories) recognized by the AIU holder is eligible.

Selection Criteria

• The selection for the BBA programme is based on merit only.

GIMT Guwahati offers a BCA as an undergraduate course. The course is a three-year long full-time program. Following are the course details: 

Eligibility Criteria 

• The candidates who secured at least 45% (40% for reserved categories) in higher secondary education with Science/ Commerce streams are eligible.
• For BCA admissions, diploma holders in CSE or IT from an AICTE recognized institute are also eligible.

• The selection of BCA program is based on merit only.

GIMT Guwahati offers a BCA as an undergraduate course. The course is a three-year long full-time program. Following are the course details: 

Eligibility Criteria

• For BCA admissions, diploma holders in CSE or IT from an AICTE recognized institute are also eligible.

GIMT Guwahati offers a two-year full-time MBA program with 60 student capacity. The college also allows lateral entry to the course.

Eligibility Criteria 

• The candidates seeking admission to the MBA program at GIMT Guwahati should be a graduate from any Indian or Foreign University recognized by UGC/AIU. 
• The minimum aggregate marks are 50% for general category students and 45% for SC/ST/OBC or other reserved categories students. 
• For MBA Lateral admission, students appearing in final year examinations can apply. They must have passed second-year degree examinations with at least 50% aggregate marks. 

Selection Criteria 

• Applicants for an MBA program will have to qualify in any one of the following examinations:

  • MAT 
  • AMAT 
  • CMAT 
  • GIMT Selection Test for MBA.
• The selection process will also feature GD-PI round after qualifying the entrance examinations. 

GIMT Guwahati offers a full-time MCA course with a duration of 2 years. The institute has 30 seats for the MCA applicants. The college also offers lateral entry to this course.

Eligibility Criteria 

• The candidates who are seeking admission to MCA program must have qualified in his/her undergraduate course with at least 50% aggregate marks in major subjects. 
• The minimum marks will be 45% for SC/ST candidates. 
• For MCA Lateral admission, a candidate waiting for final year results can apply. 

Selection Criteria 

The selection of the MCA program will be based on the merit of students in the Admission Test conducted by the authority.

• The candidates who have a Master's Degree in Relevant Subject of Research area can apply to the Ph.D. program.

The selection of the Ph.D. programs will be based on the entrance examination that is conducted by the GIMT Guwahati in June-July and December-January every year.
