Vivekanand Arts Sardar Dalip Singh Commerce and Science College was established in 1971. It has been accredited B++ by the NAAC. The college offers a wide range of courses, different activities in its curriculum. It also gives many opportunities for the students to grow in their profession. To gain admission, the student can approach the college to get help or apply by themselves from the Maharashtra University website. All admissions are done through the centralized admission process of the state of Maharashtra. The admissions for Bachelors courses take place through the Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Centralised Admission Process. One should visit the BAMU website and fill up the relevant admission form on the official website.
It is mandatory for all candidates to apply for CAP/CET conducted by the university. Candidates looking for admission for B.Tech. courses should appear for the MHT CET entrance examination. Selection will be purely based on merit scored in the CET.

The college provides facilities for scholarships and other benefits for the economically backward class students. To avail of this facility, and all the necessary documents should be provided by the student. Along with the same, the student should maintain a regular attendance of 75% throughout the year.
The college provides concessions for students whose parents or guardians earn less than INR 15,000 per annum. They should provide an income certificate of the parents. Students residing in urban areas should provide their parents’ income certificate attested by the honorary magistrates or the Tahasildar. Students whose parents are residing in rural areas should attach the income certificate of their parents attested from the Sarpanch.
The college also provides freeship for girls. Girl students need to fill up the prescribed EBC forms. They will not be charged with any fees whatsoever.
The college is administered by the Shisode family of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. The faculty of the college is formed by professors and teachers who have been with the college since long. Given the establishment a few decades back, the cumulative experience of the college is very rich. Under the mentorship of Professor Shirsat, the college faculty has many Assistant professors, Associate professors and Readers. The college has formed 23 committees headed by more than 25 faculty members and assisting members.

Ques. Can I prepare for various commission exams at this college?
Ans. One can prepare for various examinations like the UPSE and MPSC. The college provides separate training and tuition for preparing for the same. The library is a good source of updating knowledge and a general approach.
Ques. Would I be able to pursue Bachelors and Masters courses in the same college?
Ans. The college provides education for the students, right in Bachelors and Masters Courses in almost all streams of education. The admissions will be based on merit, rank, and score in the entrance examination as would be applicable for the respective course. The college provides all concerned details for the same.
Ques. I am not eligible for any of the EBC categories. I do not have money. Am I applicable for any scholarships?
Ans. Scholarship rules are similar to those provided by the Government of Maharashtra. While you may not be able to get a scholarship if you do not belong to the EBC category, the college provides scholarship to those who have exceptional results and rank in examinations mentioned in eligible criteria. Alternatively, one who does not belong to the EBC category; does not have an exceptional score and is not a girl child, they may look towards application for education loans from banks.
Ques. Does the college support research and startups?
Ans. The college has a Research body called the Central Research Council. Through the council, the college provides opportunities for conducting research, attending seminars, delivering conferences and application for IPR. The college has also given consultation guidance and support for startups. Some of the examples are the Amol dairy at Pisadevi in Aurangabad. Another successful candidate has also started Lily’s Food factory at Tilak Nagar in Aurangabad.
Ques. What are the facilities offered by the central library?
Ans. The central library is a well-furnished and facilitated area. It is automated using software called Soul 2.0. The access of the library is a closed access system for both circulation and resource centers.
The reading section of the library is 3208 sq. ft., 2080 sq. ft. stacked area for resource centre and 3480 sq. ft. for the circulation section. The library provides a total seating area for 310 users which includes 250 for students, 20 for researchers and staff while 40 for other users. The library issues 200 books on an average every day and 600 reference books every month.
