Barasat College, previously known as Barasat Evening College, was established in 1972. It offers only undergraduate courses in the field of Science, Commerce and Arts.
The College offers BA Honors, B.Sc. Honors, and B. Com Honors along with General BA, B.Sc. and B.Com. courses.
- A candidate applying for honors should have 50% marks as aggregate, 45% marks in the related subjects and 55% marks in the main honors stream subject.
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 in the vocational stream are eligible for all the general courses.
- English should be a compulsory subject at 10+2 level.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST only require 40% aggregate and 40% in each related subject for the Honors courses.
