Vishwakarma Government Engineering College (VGEC), Ahmedabad was established in August 1994. This institute is recognized by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Institute of Engineers (India). The college is administrated by Directorate of Technical Education, Gujarat State, Gandhinagar and is affiliated with Gujarat Technological University. VGEC shifted to its own campus at Chandkheda, Ahmedabad in the year 2004.

VGEC B.E. Admission 2023
For the admission to BE courses in various streams, candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths or its equivalent with minimum qualifying marks.
Admission in BE programs is strictly through the merit list and rank scored in GUJCET. GUJCET is conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) for admissions to B.Tech and BE programs offered by various engineering institutes in Gujarat.
Counseling will be organized after the result announcement of GUJCET and JEE Mains. Admission will be decided on the basis of merit and counseling result.

- GUJCET will be conducted by the Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC) for admissions to B.Tech and BE programs offered by various engineering institutes in Gujarat.
- Candidates can also seek admission to B.E course on the basis of JEE Mains score.
- In certain Institutes/Universities, 50% of the seats in Degree Engineering will be filled through the GUJCET result after the merit list is calculated. The remaining 50% seats, which are to be filled on All India basis, will be done through the results of JEE Main.
VGEC M.E. Admission 2023
VGEC offers M.E in 2 specializations. Candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying (BE/B.Tech) examination with required percentage of the marks can apply for the course. Candidates can apply for an M.E course with valid GATE score and attend the interview if they get shortlisted.
Selection of ME courses is done on the basis of marks obtained in Graduation with relevant streams.

Scholarships
Meritorious and deserving students will get scholarships as per government rules. A candidate seeking admission on reserved seat shall be required to produce a Certificate of inclusion in the concerned category, provided that the candidate belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward Classes shall be required to produce a certificate to the effect of non-inclusion in Creamy Layer in addition to the caste certificate.
