University Institute of Technology (UIT-RGPV) was set up in the year of 1986 by the Madhya Pradesh Government. It is an autonomous institute and accredited with grade ‘A’ by NAAC. Admission to B.Tech program is done based on scores of the candidates in JEE Mains. For ME admission, candidates need to have a valid GATE score.

You come from a science (PCM) stream background for eligibility. you can apply through MP DTE counselling and the charges are around 150 -200. when the process starts for choice filling for MP colleges then it charges up to 1500. For MP students there are seat reservations up to 90% and another 10% for other states students. there is a huge no. of rank benefits for reservation candidates like obc, and st/sc candidates in comparison to general candidates. the admission process in college is conducted through physical reporting and the process is smoothly conducted also faculty helps the students.

Admission is totally Based on Jee's mains score and the process is through counselling after both attempts of JEE MPDTE conducts online counselling for getting admission in colleges of MP So the candidate need can get admission to this college.

The admission process is easy, After getting your printed allotment letter you can directly visit the college and you will be asked for some of your documents. after 2-3 hours of the admission process, you will get admission done.
UIT RGPV: 5 Answered Questions
Can my branch upgrade at UIT RGPV if I score good in the exams?
This is one of the most common questions asked by students in their first year at RGPV. Most of these students are admitted based on the score obtained in the CLC round. Due to this, they are only left with 2-3 options(Mechanical or Petrochemical) to avail seats.
It would not be possible for you to upgrade the branch assigned to you during enrollment. If you have a good academic record, the seats are still offered on the basis of vacancy.
For instance, if a certain branch has a seat available for an OBC candidate, then a General category student cannot apply for it. If in any case, none of the OBC candidates applied for the seat only then you can have a chance.
Even if you have a higher score and have no backlogs, in comparison with an OBC candidate having few backlogs, the seat would still get allocated to him.
I got 91% in 12th board, does taking admission in UIT rgpv for EC engineering is a good decision? I am asking this because I heard that there is no study in uit rgpv and worst placement.
I know a few people from RGPV, and based on what I heard from them, I will say that it’s true that academics are not up to the mark at the institute. During semester exams, students use the Shivani book to pass the following technical courses (which includes questions from the previous 20 years). This prevents you from building up concepts.

Spending four years in RGPV with a 91 percent grade in class 12th would be a waste of time and effort. So, rather than doing B.E. from RGPV, It would be advised to pursue any other option if you are planning to pursue Engineering in the EC branch.
How much attendance is required at UIT-RGPV?
According to UIT-RGPV rules, students are required to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance. Students failing to maintain a minimum of 75% attendance, get disbarred from taking the mid-sem and final examination. Although the restrictions regarding attendance may vary depending on the college and department, try to maintain the minimum attendance, to be safe.
Can I change my college from OIST, Bhopal to UIT RGPV, Bhopal in 2nd year?
Yes, you can switch your college but make sure to do the following things beforehand:
- Keep good grades, in case someone else also applies for it you can be the best available candidate.
- Download the college transfer form from the RGPV website.
- Keep following UIT, RGPV's website to know when the procedure starts and the number of seats available for different branches, and in which caste category.
Importantly, you will need a NOC (Non-objection certificate) from your college stating that they don't have any problem with you changing the college. This is tricky because colleges like OIST will not do that because if they do so, they will lose students and fees.
But once you're done with NOC, you can come for the counseling process in UIT RGPV.
How is UIT-RGPV in terms of academics?
Compared to other technical institution in Bhopal and Indore, UIT RGPV fares well. The institute has a well-experienced faculty pool. Most professors are cooperative and friendly. Classes and examinations are scheduled regularly. You will have to do most of the studies yourself. The faculties and the college can only help guide you.
RGPV placements are good, especially for branches such as CS or IT. TCS, Infosys, Hexaware, etc. are some of the major recruiters that visit the campus placements regularly.
