About NUALS
National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) is located in Kochi city of Ernakulam district, India. It is a public law school and a National Law University. It is the first and only National Law University in the State of Kerala and one of the 23 NLUs in India. It was established by Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature. It was earlier known as National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies (NIALS). NUALS is also ranked 11 in all India for law studies as per the rankings published by India Today.
NUALS offers BA LLB, LLM, PG Diploma, Ph.D and certificate programs under its curriculum. NUALS admissions to all these courses are done on the basis of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT).
During NUALS placement 2023-24, the university recorded a placement rate of 46% and 30%, for BA LLB Hons and PG 1-year programs, respectively. The median package offered for BA LLB Hons stood at INR 8.23 LPA. Further, the median package offered for PG 1-year program stood at INR 9 LPA.

The National University of Advanced Legal Studies offers four different courses under various specializations. NUALS Kochi Admission 2025
The National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS) offers a diverse range of legal education at undergraduate & postgraduate level. The courses offered by the university are BA LLB, LLM, PG Diploma, and Ph.D.
All the admissions at NUALS are strictly entrance-based. The selection of the UG & PG courses will be done on the basis of the marks of CLAT (centralized exam for law). Kerala students have a reservation of 49% across all categories.
NUALS Kochi Application Process
Admissions to LLM and BA- LLB (Hons) will be done via CLAT. The application process for CLAT is mentioned here:
- Register on the official website of the CLAT & fill the application form correctly.
- Upload all the necessary documents which are asked there.
- Pay the application fee online through net banking debit/ credit cards/ UPI, etc.
Application Process for PG Diploma courses:
- Download the application form as a pdf from the university website
- Submit the application form & upload all the documents that are asked there
- Eligible candidates will be listed on the basis of the qualifying exam (Bachelor’s Degree) cut-off.
Application Process for PhD:
- The candidates have to download the application form as a pdf from the website of the university
- Submit the application form to the university along with the fees that is asked
- The candidates who are doing research in the recognised institutions can submit their application through the Head of the Institution to the Registrar of the University
Note: The students who have secured at least 50% marks in DAT will be eligible for the admission process.

NUALS Kochi CLAT Cutoff
The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU) will release the cut-off for the year 2024 at the time of counselling and seat allotment. Right after the declaration of CLAT 2024 results the NLUs will start their seat allotment and counselling process. Candidates who want to take admission in NUALS Kochi should check the cut-off scores of CLAT for NUALS Kochi.

NUALS Kochi Result
National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi conducts the examination for the academic year students twice a year in the months of April/May/June and October/November/ December. National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi Results come online at the official website. Students can check the result in a few simple steps. Follow the steps mentioned below and check the result.
Step 1 – The candidates need to visit the official website of the University - nuals.ac.in.

IDIA is a Non profit, non governmental organization which runs for the benefit of the student community.
