IISc Bangalore MTech Admission Process 2023
IISc will conduct its own screening process for admission in MTech courses. First round includes GATE scores verification. Candidates with valid score will be called for the Aptitude test which is followed by an interview round. A list of shortlisted candidates for admission is published on the official website. The shorlisting of candidates for the interview round is based on GATE exam scores. IISc Bangalore releases its cutoff scores at the screening stage every year. 70% weightage is given to the GATE scores and 30% weightage is given to written test/ Personal interview.

IISc Bangalore MTech Application Process
IISc Bangalore registrations can be done online. The candidate can follow the given procedure to ensure complete registration:
- Visit the official website https://www.iisc.ac.in.
- Click on “M.Tech and M.Des Admission”.
- Click on “New User Registration”.
- Enter the Details like Name, DOB, Password, Email id, and other security answers.
- Verify the email id by clicking on the link provided via email.
- Login to the website.
- Enter the academic details like 10th, 12th, Graduation marks.
- Enter GATE/ CEED details.
- Pay the Application fee through Credit card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
- Upload the scanned images.
- Click on Save.
- Preview the application form for checking any mistakes.
- Click on “Confirm to Submit”.
- Save the form in PDF Format.

IISc Bangalore charges an amount of INR 43,400 for its two MTech program. The amount is payable to General category students only. For the SC/ST category students, the total fee is INR 25,400. Ques. What is the minimum requirement for admission to the MTech and MDES courses at IISc Bangalore?
Ans. The minimum requirement for admission to course programmes – M Tech / M Des is a second class or an equivalent grade in the qualifying examination as indicated against each department.
Ques. Can a candidate joining MTech later transfer to an integrated PhD at IISc Bangalore?
Ans. Candidates who have initially joined MTech can be eligible for a transfer to the Integrated PhD program if their academic performance (assessments) are up to the mark. This depends on the discretion of the Institute.
