Jhargram Raj College Admission 2023: Courses, Fees, Eligibility and Selection

Jhargram Raj College offers admission to 3 years full time B.Sc., BA, and B.Com. (General and Honours) courses. The basic eligibility for these courses is a pass in 10+2 examination.

Specializations

There is only one specialization in B.Com (Hons) i.e. Accounting and Finance.

B.Sc. and B.Sc. (Hons) Specializations

NOTE - Economics is offered as a separate specialization in B.Sc.(Hons) course.

BA and BA (Hons) Specializations

NOTE - The option of Physical Education is not available in BA (Hons) course.

Jhargram Raj College UG Eligibility 

• Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent board/council in at least 5 subjects.
• For Honours courses, candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with minimum 45% marks in aggregate calculated by adding the marks obtained in best five subjects (including at least one language paper but excluding Environmental Studies) or 50% marks in subject or related subject.

Jhargram Raj College UG Selection Criteria

Admissions to all the UG courses are done on the basis of merit secured in the qualifying exam.

Key Points:

• Merit points for admission to General undergraduate courses are calculated by adding the marks obtained in the best five subjects(including at least one language paper but excluding Environmental Studies.
• Merit point for admission in Honours undergraduate courses is determined by calculating the average of total marks obtained in the best five subjects (including at least one language paper but excluding Environmental Studies)

The college offers a 2 years full time MA and M.Sc courses. The basic eligibility for this course is a Graduation with Honours Degree. Candidates applying for the course need to appear for CET.

Specializations

Jhargram Raj College offers M.Sc course under 2 specializations namely Chemistry and Zoology and MA course in only one specialization i.e. Bengali.

Jhargram Raj College PG Eligibility 

Eligibility for M.Sc.

Candidates must have passed Honours with 50% marks (45% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PWD candidates). 

Eligibility for MA

Candidates must have passed Honours with 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PWD candidates).

Jhargram Raj College PG Selection Criteria

• Admission to PG courses is based on Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by Vidyasagar University.
• The merit list will be prepared based on Entrance Test (50% weightage) and Honours subject (50% weightage).
• In case of a tie, total marks/percentage of marks of immediately preceding examination (H. S. or equivalent) is considered for ranking.
• The final selection will be done through a Counselling round.
