Amal College of Advanced Studies was established in 2005. The college is affiliated to to the University of Calicut. The college offers Bachelor and Masters Programmes in the Field of Arts , Science and Commerce . It also offers Professional Degree courses
- The College is run by the Nilambur Muslim Orphanage Committee, Nilambur (Estd.1969) to impart quality Higher Education to the people of backward and rural areas
- The college is aided by the Government of Kerala
- The College offers three Career Enrichment Courses in Communicative English, Travel & Tourism and Tally & Project Management
- The college has student strength of 319 including a student from Lakshadeep (188 boys and 131 girls). There are 54 Schedule Cast students (24 boys & 20 girls)
Extra Curricular:
- NSS - NSS has 100 volunteers and participates in numerous activities like Tribal Literacy Programme , Village Adoption Programme, Special Programme for Orphanage Inmates, Eco-Tourism Programme etc.
- Amal College Students Union- Students Union organize various activities for the welfare of the students The college union activities give chances to students for getting exposure to democratic practices
- Red Ribbon Club- Red Ribbon Club of the College conducts by the Kerala State AIDS Control Society and organizes various AIDS awareness programmes
- Fine Arts Club- A Fine Arts Day organizes by this club on November-2011. The College Team participated in Calicut University, C-Zone, Arts Festival held at S.N.D.P Yogam College, Perithalmanna, from December 12th to December 15th of 2011. The College team in Margamkali got A-grade
- Amal Centre for Islamic Studies- It inculcates the moral values and religion practices under the Department of Arabic. It organized Ramzan Vijyana Vedhi, Ramzan Musabaq, essay competition, Ifthar Party & Bakrid Fest
- Reader’s Forum- Literary activities under Malayalam Department are conducted. It published a book with ISBN Number,“Pedi Peyyunna Vazhikal” a collection of Campus Poems edited by Mr. Muneer.O.K, Asst. Professor in Malayalam
- Womens Development Cell & Womens Forum- Under this cell various activities are organized like essay competition on Women in Visual Media, a three day ICT Training Programme for 24selected girl students with the support of Kerala State Women Development Corporation Ltd of Government of Kerala etc.
- ED Club- It is run by the District Industries Centre, of Government of Kerala. It organized Guest from West Programme, Cura Ludus, management games session and quiz competition
- Department of Commerce– This department organize various programmes Workshop on MS Excel, Financial education, Seminar or Indian Banking System, Management Games,Guest from West-‘a cross cultural interaction fest” etc.

The college has spacious and well-equipped library with KOHA software and more than 10,000 digital books.
