What is a lateral entry course and who qualifies for it?

Lateral entry refers to a student entering college in 2ndyear. This applies to students who have done a 1-year diploma in a particular field. Any student who has passed a diploma exam from a recognized institute with 50% marks in the relevant branch of engineering or technology is allowed to apply to these lateral entry courses offered by Trichy Engineering College.

Is there any relaxation for students having reservations?

Yes, there is a relaxation in terms of TNEA counselling as well as in TANCET counselling. Moreover, the eligibility criteria is also relaxed for students with reservation. For instance, an open category student must have a minimum of 50% in 10+2 exams, for OBC candidates, it is 45% and for SC/ST candidates, it is 40%.
