About SJEC
The St. Joseph Engineering College is a private college recognised by AICTE, New Delhi has been established in the year 2002. The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka State. The college is NBA accredited. The college has a great campus spread across 35 acres.

Candidates have to appear for an entrance examination to become eligible for admission. For B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA and MCA, candidates have to appear for COMED - K, GATE and KMAT/PGCET respectively. Candidates can apply online through college’s official website by downloading the application form and prospectus and submit at the college campus. The minimum eligibility for undergraduate program is that the candidate should be passed in 10+2 in a relevant field and appears for COMEDK .For post graduate program, candidate completed graduation in a relevant field from a recognized university and appears for the entrance examination (PGCET/KMAT/GATE). How to apply?
For B.E:
- Candidates have to appear for the Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET) - conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK).
- This can be done by registering at the official website of COMEDK to appear in the counselling.
- The candidate has to fill the application form by filling personal and academic details in the application and pay the prescribed fees. The login and password will be provided on the official website, and according to time slot candidate has to appear for the examination.
- COMEDK authority will conduct single window counselling based on the ranking in the entrance examination.
- The seat will be allotted to the candidates as per the counselling rounds.
- The candidate has to report to allocated institute and verify all the documents and pay the fees, to complete the admission process.
For M.B.A:
- Students have to appear for the entrance examination- Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) or Kerala Management Admission Test (KMAT).
- MBA aspirants who want to take admission through government quota have to appear for the Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (Karnataka PGCET).
- Selection of the candidates is based on the merit in the qualifying examination, the result of Karnataka PGCET MBA/CMAT.
- The procedure completes once the candidate verifies documents and pays fees.
For MCA:
- Students have to apply for the entrance examination conducted by SJEC.
- Selection of the candidates is based on the merit in the qualifying examination, entrance test marks and the interview.

- Candidate has to appear for the entrance examination - Karnataka PGCET, conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Ans. The college has strict rules and regulations some are as follows:
- College working hours are: 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, 2.00 pm to 5 pm.
- The College discourages use of soft drinks. Wholesome food and drinks are available in the College Canteen, Cafeteria and the Hostel.
- 85% attendance is compulsory
- It is necessary to score a minimum of 40% to pass in any subject in the semester examination.
- Participation in co-curricular or extra-curricular activities inside or outside the campus is not counted as absence from class.
- The students are required to wear college Identity Card on all college working days. Failure to wear the college identity card will be treated as misconduct and such students will be barred from entering the campus and class.

Ans. The college has a strong stand against ragging. The college has an anti-ragging committee which follows principles :
- Ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited by law inside the campus and outside.
- Offenders will be dismissed from the College and the hostel, and reported to the police.
- Photographs of offenders will not only be displayed on the notice board, but also published in newspapers.
- Offenders cannot appear for university examinations.
- Names of offenders will be sent to VTU, which will record the fact in the marks card.
