Sona College of Technology Admission 2024: Courses, Eligibility, Registration, Selection Criteria

The college offers B.E/ B.Tech courses in various specializations. The course is available in the regular mode and the duration of the course is 4 years. There are a total of 9 specializations present for B.E/ B.Tech aspirants.

SCT Salem B.E/B.Tech Eligibility 

• For both B.E and B.Tech, all the aspirants who have scored a minimum of 50% in 10+2 with PCM or equivalent subjects are eligible to apply. 
• 5% Relaxation to the students belonging to (SC/ST) backward classes is given as per by the government.

SCT Salem B.E/B.Tech Selection Criteria

• The selection of the B.Tech (first year) students is completely done on the cut-off marks list. The college strictly follows the rules set by Anna University. 

The cut off marks are calculated as follows-

Cut off mark = 200 (100 for Mathematics and 100 for Physics + Chemistry)

The selection of students willing to get admission in the second year is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the Diploma (10+3/12+2) examination.

• Interested candidates can directly register themselves on the official website of the college. 
• Candidates have to fill in their personal, academic, and other scanned documents while filling the form.
• Pay the application form fee via debit card /credit card/ UPI / Paytm following the guidelines.
• After the payment is successful, print the confirmation page for future use.

Eligibility

For admission to M.E./M.Tech programs, candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech. degree in a relevant subject. 

Selection Criteria

The selection in M.E./M.Tech. programs will be provided based on merit secured by the students in TANCET / CET / GATE.

SCT Offers Management course at Sona School of Management, which is affiliated to the Sona College of Technology itself. The course is only available in regular mode. The total number of students intake for the MBA course is 180.

SCT Salem MBA Eligibility 

The minimum eligibility for pursuing MBA from SCT is Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks or as follows: 

• 10+2+3 years pattern 
• 10+3 years Diploma + 3 years pattern 
• B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm. 
• 10+2+AMIE* 
• 10+3 Years diploma + AMIE*

Selection criteria

The students are selected based on the entrance marks (MAT/CET/TANCET) conducted by Anna University & Association of Management of Coimbatore Anna University Affiliated Colleges. 

SCT also offers technical courses such as MCA aiming at enhancing the standards of the IT industry. The college has well-equipped labs, libraries, and all other teaching resources. Valuable lectures are also delivered by some of the known personalities in the college for a better understanding of the industry to students. A total number of 60 seats are present for MCA in the college.

SCT Salem MCA Eligibility Selection Criteria

• The minimum eligibility for pursuing MCA program is that you have Passed BCA/ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent Degree
• Passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level or Graduation Level (with additional bridge Courses as per the norms of the concerned University).
• Obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying Examination.

SCT Salem MCA Selection Criteria

• The selection of students for MCA is also entrance based (TANCET/CET). 
• Students have to appear for any of the following exams and then will be shortlisted on the basis of their scores in the appearing exams.
