Sinhgad Institute of Technology and Science (SITS), Pune Admission 2024: Application process, Reservation

Sinhgad Institute of Technology and Science offers B.E programs in 5 specializations. Students seeking admission in B.E. should have passed Higher Secondary Examination with at least 50% marks together in Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject as one of the optional subjects.

For getting direct admission to Lateral Entry, the candidates should have passed Post-SSC or Post-HSC Diploma course in Engineering/Technology with at least 45% marks in the appropriate branch of Engineering/Technology from an AICTE approved institution with English as the medium of instruction at Diploma level.

Admission is done on the basis of rank/score in MHT CET or JEE Main. After the counselling round, the admissions are done at institute level or based on vacant seats.

Key points regarding B.E Admission:

• The eligibility criteria remain the same for J & K Migrant candidates. However, they are admitted based on DTE of Maharashtra State Percentages of seats are allocated to the candidates as per the test.
• For Maharashtra State candidates, 65% of seats are allotted. All India candidates are allotted 15% of seats. The institute level seats for all candidates are 20%.
• Candidates who possess a B.Sc. Degree from a UGC/Association of recognized Indian Universities with at least 45% marks is also eligible for Lateral Entry admission.
• 5% relaxation is marks are provided to candidates of backward class and Physically Handicapped belonging to Maharashtra state.

The institute offers M.E in 2 specializations. Students who wish to seek admissions in the M.Tech program should possess B.E./B.Tech. Degree in any of the related branches with a minimum 55% marks. The total intake for M.E is 60 seats per year.

Candidates are selected based on the entrance exam conducted by the respective departments.

Key points for M.E Admission:

• Department of Mechanical Engineering also conducts certificate courses in CAD/CAM for the students.
• Relaxation of 5% will be given for SC/ST candidates in the qualifying examination.
• Preference will be given to GATE, UGC, and CSIR qualified candidates during the admission process.

SITS Pune offers MBA in 6 specializations. Candidates should have done their graduation in the same or related discipline with at least 50% marks in any Bachelor’s degree from any of the university recognized by Central or State Government to be eligible for MBA.

Candidates are selected based on the written test followed by an interview conducted by Department of Management Sciences “PUMBA”.

The first to fourth round of admissions for MBA course will be conducted by the centralized procedure of Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, and Mumbai.

Key points for MBA admission:

• Candidates who get seats in the first round of allotment and do not report will be permanently deleted from the database and will not be offered any seat in subsequent rounds of allotment.
• After the counselling round of admissions, the vacant seat positions are displayed on the official website of DTE Maharashtra and are allotted by inter merit in the corresponding category by college authorities.
• The merit list of SITS is based on the cumulative marks obtained in the final year of any graduate examination.
• Candidates should have sufficient attested copies of all original documents. The office will ask for attested photocopies of documents according to the requirements.
