Students have claimed the placements provided by the college are at par with some of the Top colleges in India for the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- For the 2019 passed-out batch, the placement percent was almost 100%. For the 2018 passed-out batch, the placement percentage was 95%. For the year 2017, it was 89%.
- Top recruiting companies were Genesys, Bosch, Think and Learn, Wipro, LT Elevators, Capgemini, Solarize, TCS, Dell, AGS Technologies, Pyramid, etc.
- Many core companies for EEE visit the campus every year for the recruitment of students.
- Coming to the batch of 2020, 98% of the students were placed in reputed companies. The highest package which was offered was INR 11 Lakhs per annum and the median package was INR 5 Lakhs per annum.

About SMIT
Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology (SMIT), East Sikkim is ranked 201 by NIRF 2022. SMIT comes under the aegis of Sikkim Manipal University (SMU). The institute offers UG and PG degree courses in the disciplines of Computer Applications, Information Technology and Management. The flagship courses of the institute are a 4-year B.Tech course in 7 specializations and a 2-year M.Tech course. Other popular courses of SMIT include BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA in 4 specializations and an M.Sc degree in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Admission to SMIT Sikkim is done on the basis of merit and the SMIT entrance test. Accepted entrance scores for the B.Tech course are JEE/MET/SMIT Online Test. SMIT provides Merit cum Means based scholarships. The scholarship will also be applicable to economically weak students based upon the income of the guardian/ parent subject to recommendation by the institutional scholarship committee on case to case basis along with verification of requisite documents. Details of the SMIT Scholarships are given below.
- 30% Scholarship on Course fee for B. Tech candidates having an average PCM percentage of 90 and above.
- 20% Scholarship on Course fee for B. Tech candidates having an average PCM percentage between 85 and 90.
- 10% Scholarship on Course fee for B. Tech candidates having an average PCM percentage between 80 and 85.
