Shanmuganathan Engineering College, Tirumayam Admission 2024: UG & PG Admission, Reservation

SEC offers full time four-year courses in various disciplines of Engineering for the candidates who have passed 12^th standard examination of State Board of secondary education and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with subjects Mathematics, Physics, English as a compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/Bio technology as one of the optional subject. Admission is merit based.

Candidates having Diploma or Bachelor of Science (Science and Maths) recognized by state government with minimum 45% of marks are eligible to take admission directly in second year or third semester B.E program.

Eligibility Table:

• 5% relaxation is allowed for reserved category candidates.
• Candidates who are natives of the state of Tamil Nadu and have completed their Class 8 to Class 12 education in the state will be eligible to apply for TNEA.

Candidates having Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree in relevant branch with 50% marks from recognized university are eligible to take admission in Master of Engineering (M.E) program. Admissions are entrance based i.e. GATE or TANCET.

Total intake of 62 students is possible in different disciplines of M.E such as Computer Science and Engineering, Structural Engineering and VLSI Design.

• Candidates who have completed graduation in Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) and having valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score card are eligible to take direct admission in M.E program.
• Those candidates who do not have GATE score card can take admission by appearing in TANCET organized by Anna University.
• Reserved category candidates having minimum 45% marks in relevant branch are eligible to take admission in M.E program.

SEC offers Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) course in Civil Engineering for the candidates who have completed their master's degree or any other qualification recognized as equivalent in the field of Civil Engineering with 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA. Admission to this course will be through University Based Entrance Exam conducted by Anna University.  

Candidates having bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology or any other qualification recognized as equivalent in the fields of study with a minimum of 15 years of Research and development (R & D) experience in National Research Laboratories / Public sector undertakings and with minimum of three publications in referred impact factor journals or two approved international patents in the last five years are eligible to take admission in Ph.D course.

• 50% marks or CGPA of 5.0 on a 10-point scale for SC/ST candidates.
