MEC, Viluppuram offers 12 courses across 3 streams namely Engineering, Management, IT and across 4 degrees like BE, ME, MCA, MBA.The college offers six undergraduate courses and six postgraduate courses for professional courses as a full time course.
Admissions into B.E are on the basis of TNEA score, while for admissions in postgraduate programmes, students have to appear for TANCET in order to be eligible for admission.

Admission into B.E/B.Tech. are on the basis of TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Test) score, while for admission in postgraduate programmes (M.Tech./MBA/MCA), students have to appear for TANCET (Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test) in order to be eligible for admission. Selection is based on TANCET Scores through Counselling.

Library : Facilities starting from Library having excellent 38.550 volumes of technical, Humanities and Sciences and its related fields and subscriptions to over 266 National and International Journals. For differently abled students, it comprises an Audio-Visual section equipped with video cassettes and CDs, Bar-Coding and Internet Connectivity. Reprographic Facility is also available. Apart from this central library, each department has a departmental library with all the required text and study material prescribed by Anna University for that particular department.
Lab : It has a strong Computer and Internet facilities that includes more than 900 terminals of latest configurations and all the latest softwares are available to access the information by each and every student and faculty members. High speed Wi-Fi connectivity for all the students to access their departmental requirements and accelerates the research progress of the R&D cell as well.Faculties who pursue their Ph.D and postdoctoral research do benefit from the WiFi connectivity on campus.
Hostel : College has a separate hostel for Boys and Girls in the campus itself with a range of rooms and a variety of services that makes the inmates feel as if they are at homes. Each hostel is assigned with a Deputy Warden who guides them according to their needs. Also a modern canteen that can cater to 350 students at a time and that provides hygienic food at an affordable cost to all the students as well as the staff members, including visitors and others as well.
Counselling cell : The Cell has been established by keeping in mind the problems of students. Our youngsters, the most vulnerable section of the society, can be easily misled, trapped and resort to undesirable activities. Hence the Cell plays a major role in guiding the students to move along the right path towards their destination. The counselling cell of the College is imparting its services to the students. The cell conducts the meeting to know the problems of the students and counsellings are given to those who face the problems. The counselor helps the students to resolve their problems in a positive way by helping them to analyze the problems, develop strategies and find out solutions. Common Personal concerns include grief, relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression etc., The problems are solved in a confidential discussion between the student and the counselor about personal soul and emotional issues. Later students develop decision making skills which have been needed to meet the challenges of living and learning. Students can develop Self-awareness / Self-realization, individualization, problem-solving skill, acquisition of social skills, behaviours and cognitive change, self-decision making abilities and empowerment etc.
