Goa College of Engineering (GEC) Admission 2023: Placement, Cutoff

Goa College of Engineering (GEC) established in 1967, is a unit of Goa University and is an AICTE approved institution.

There are around 7 departments that offer approximately 15 academic degree programs in Engineering, at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level at GEC.

For admission to BE programs at GEC, students must qualify Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) along with 45% in the last high school qualifying exam. 

Admissions to ME program at GEC requires applicants to qualify for the GATE exam and have a bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of engineering. 

Goa College of Engineering does not offer any scholarship to its students. The students can in-turn look for other funding options to support their studies.

Placements on the other hand are offered at GEC. The Department of Computer witnessed maximum placements in the previous academic session. Out of total placements of 224 around 86 students from this department were recruited by as many as 12 companies out of 21 companies that visited the campus.

BE admissions at GEC requires aspirants to have at least 45% aggregate in the last qualifying exam. Along with the online registration for the program, there are other key highlights of the program, given below:

• Scanned copy of photograph - (jpg/JPEG format size should not be more than 30kB) (Width: 131Px; Height: 127Px ;)
• Scanned copy of signature - (jpg/JPEG format size should not be more than 30kB)
• Scanned copy of the admit card issued by DTE. (Only for BE students)* (jpg/JPEG/PDF format, size < 400KB)
• Scanned copy of class 12th marks card - (jpg/JPEG/PDF format, size < 400KB)
• Scanned copy of class 10th marks card - (jpg/JPEG/PDF format, size < 400KB)
• Scanned copy of Income certificate (if Applicable) - (jpg/JPEG/PDF format, size < 400KB)
• Scanned copy of Caste certificate

GEC BE Application Registration 

• After Reading the procedure click on the Register button located below which will open a pre-verification form where the candidate needs to enter GCET NO, DOB (Date of Birth), Mobile no. and Email ID and submit the form.
• The system will check the candidate credentials from the GCET database and if data are correct OTP (One Time Password) will be sent to the registered mobile number and email id.
• Candidates need to enter OTP in the online form appearing on the screen.
• On successful submission of correct OTP, a New Student Registration form will open on the screen. The candidate needs to fill all the details and upload the scanned copies of photograph and other documents mentioned above.
• On successful submission of the form, the student will receive an SMS and an email having the Enrollment Number.
• Click on the print button and print/save a copy of the submitted application form for future reference.

ME admission at GEC is based upon GATE scores and at least 50% in the last qualifying exam. Some more details about the master’s program have been highlighted in the table below:
