GS Mandal’s Marathwada Institute of Technology, Aurangabad was established in the year 1975 under Bombay Public Trust Act. It is one of the engineering institutes under the Gramodyogik Shikshan Mandal. Over the last three decades, GSM has already set up 19 institutes and 5 centers of learning at different regions in India. MIT is part of National Knowledge Network, Govt. of India. The college is affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (BATU), Lonere and is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Mumbai, and State Govt. of Maharashtra. The institute is the first in India to be impaneled as an ESCO approved by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. The college provides various B.Tech, M.Tech, and Archeology courses in numerous specializations under its curriculum.

The college provides research level Ph.D. courses in two engineering specializations such as Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
Admission to B.Tech programs is done on the basis of marks acquired by the aspirant at the 10+2 level with 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category and Physically disabled candidates of Maharashtra State) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. Diploma holders with same 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category and PD candidates of Maharashtra state) and having English as the medium of instruction can also apply for the course for direct 2nd year of the particular program on Lateral Entry basis. B.Tech admissions are done on the basis of valid scores of MHT-CET or JEE (MAINS).
For M.Tech admissions, an aspirant needs a Bachelors degree with 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category and PD candidates of Maharashtra state) with a qualifying score in the GATE entrance exam.
