BLDEA's V.P. Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology (DPGHCET) is a prestigious educational institution located in Vijaypur, Northern part of Karnataka. The institute imparts quality education in the field of technology and management. It was established in 1980 and is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belgaum.
The college currently offers eight undergraduate programs in engineering and architecture with an intake capacity of 750 students. It also offers seven M. Tech programs with an intake of 126 seats and a MBA and MCA program with the intake of 60 seats for each course.

Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology offers undergraduate level engineering courses in up to eight disciplines. Selection of candidates is done on the basis of marks obtained in Karnataka CET and counselling conducted by DTE Karnataka.
The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is a pass in 10+2 in science stream with 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science combined.

The college offers seven M.Tech courses, MBA and MCA programs. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to these programs is graduation in the relevant or allied discipline with minimum 50% marks.
Candidates seeking admission to DPGHCET can apply through PGCET 201 of respective course. M. Tech candidates can also apply with a valid GATE score. Application process for PGCET is through KEA website. Candidates are also required to register for counselling online and attend the same on the designated dates.

To be eligible to apply to various Ph.D. programs offered by the college, applicant should have a master’s degree in the relevant or allied discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates applying for Ph.D. offered by SIT are selected through personal interview conducted on institute level. The applicant may require to take an admission test for certain subjects.

The process of application varies from course to course. The detailed application process for each course is as listed below:
For B.E. programs:
- Candidates can apply through Karnataka CET-2021 by visiting the KCET website.
- Candidates have to first click on “New User? Click Here to Register” tab on the home page of the KEA website. He/she will then have to provide all the required information in the candidate registration form and submit.
- A unique registration number and User ID is given at this point.
- Candidates are then required to fill and submit the online Application form online after filling all the requisite details as given in the information brochure.
- Payment of application fees can be made online through e-Challan.
- Scanned copies of passport size photograph, candidate’s signature, candidate’s Left Hand Thumb Impression and Parent’s signature will be required to upload.
- Candidates must retain the following documents with them as reference for future correspondence.
- At least three printouts of the finally submitted online Application.
- Proof of fees paid
- 2-3 copies of identical Photograph that scanned and uploaded on the Online Application.
- All successful applicants will be issued admit cards for the purpose of CET. Candidates must preserve the Admit Card till the admission in College or Institution.
Note: The process of application for M. Tech, MBA and MCA is same as that of B. Tech. However, candidates must apply through the PGCET 2021 link instead of KCET link.
