AVS Engineering College (AVSEC) is one of the most premium institutes located in the Steel City Salem, Tamil Nadu, and was established in 2008. The college is situated well within the town limit of Salem city and located at Ammapet, Salem-3. The college is 2 km away from Salem Town Railway Station and 7 km away from Salem Junction. It is renowned for imparting quality education to future engineers and managers. It is recognized under 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956. It is approved by AICTE and is affiliated with Anna University.
It provides a wide array of courses to the students which include B.E at the undergraduate level in 5 different fields, M.E and MBA at postgraduate level in several specializations.
Admission to the courses at AVS Engineering College is merit-based. AVS Engineering College witnessed a large number of companies visiting the campus for recruitments. It has a marvelous placement record. A total of 83 companies visited the college and the students received a total of 645 offers. 373 students received offers from recruiting companies.
Along with the MoU’s of Schneider Electric, Zoho Creator, Sensiple, NFN Labs, Barola Airways, Srishti, EEDISSIA, DatadesQ, Qspiders, Talent.io, Techgig, Trueesailogo have added more career prospects for our students.
The placement season of 2019-20 saw an increase in the number of offers and companies as compared to its previous year 2018-19. The campus achieved 96% placements. 83 companies visited the campus for recruitments and 373 students were placed. The total number of offers made was 645. 187 students achieved multiple offers. The 83 companies that visited the campus were from multiple sectors which included 30 from the Core sector, 27 from the IT Sector, 9 for MBA, 10 for ITES, and 7 were general. 4 companies offered a salary package of 8+ Lakhs, 3 companies offered 6+ Lakhs and 10 companies offered 3+ Lakhs.
In the year 2018-19, 70 companies had visited for recruitments and a total of 636 offers were made. 340 students were placed. 176 students were placed with more than 2 offers in hand. Out of the 70 companies, 26 were for Core, 21 for IT sector, 13 companies for MBA, 8 for ITES, and 2 were general.

AVS Engineering College provides scholarships and loans to the meritorious and needy students. For the Educational Loan assistance shall be provided through HDFC Bank within the campus.

To cater to the needs of the students and the faculty, AVS Engineering College provides a wide variety of facilities. It provides a large number of facilities to the students including Hostels, Gym, labs, library, Food Court, Sports, and many more. These are:
Transport- AVSEC provides the facility of 30+buses with concession fees which cover 900+ bus stops within the radius of 90 km.
Hostel- There are separate hostels for girls and boys with the facilities of Mess, Reading rooms, Rooms, playgrounds, and indoor gaming facilities. Also, there is 24 hours backup, RO plant, and free internet connection through Wi-Fi systems.
Gym- A well-equipped gym is provided within the campus. This shall be open to both the students and the faculty.
Library- There is a well-stocked library with 36,152 book volumes, 174 journals, and 1062 e-journals. DELNET has also been established to collect and disseminate information to the students.
Food Court- Food Court at AVSEC is a well-designed canteen. It supplies hygienic snacks and eatables.
Prayer Hall- A prayer song is played every morning for the students to pray. Also, a separate hall is built for the Muslim students to do NAMAS on Friday afternoon every week.
Parlor- A parlor is available on the campus to provide excellent amenities to the girl students.
Infrastructure - Spacious college buildings and well-designed classrooms and labs speak the excellent infrastructure. Each building block is having an optical fiber backbone with net-working extended up to labs and libraries. The college has a 125KV HT line and two generator units to provide zero downtime power supply throughout the campus
