Eligibility Criteria

  • Completed one year of compulsory rotating internship after passing the final MBBS examination and must have full registration with the State Medical Council/Medical Council of India.
  • 5 years professional experience on or before 31 March of advertisement out of which 2 years should be in a department such as Preventive and Social Medicine, Community Health, Hospital Administration, Public Health Administration, and allied disciplines of Epidemiology, Maternal, and Pediatric nutrition, etc. in a medical college, a recognized hospital, a research institution in Delhi or in a teaching hospital outside Delhi and another 3 years experience at State/central level or in local bodies, Armed Forces Medical Services, public or voluntary sector organizations, railways, ESIC.

Application Process

Due to the institute’s affiliation to the University of Delhi, the admissions are made through NEET PG. The application process is as follows:

  • Download the application form from the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Delhi University website.
  • Pay the DUMET application fee of INR 700 through the demand draft must be attached to the application. This is non-refundable.
  • Appear for the exam and receive merit rank.
  • If shortlisted, your name will appear on the merit list.
  • Complete the admission process and pay requisite fees.

National Institute of Health and Family welfare offers scholarships to needy students as made available by the government. Some of the scholarships are mentioned below:

  • Merit cum Means scholarships: These are provided to the needy students who are poor but have good merit marks. They are given opportunities to teach at the institute. 
  • Reservation category scholarship: These are given to students belonging from SC, ST, OBC categories. Tuition fee waivers are given to students along with other benefits like hostel fees and academic fee waivers.
