The BSc Nursing course at Lady Hardinge Medical College includes a mandatory internship during the eighth semester at Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital and Kalawati Saran Children Hospital. This internship lasts around 5 to 6 months, during which students gain practical experience similar to working as nursing officers and receive a stipend of Rs 500 per month. While students benefit from practical exposure and research participation, the college does not offer direct placements after graduation, often necessitating additional exams for job placement.
The internship is also available to students from other colleges. In terms of fees, the first-year college fee is about Rs 7,400, followed by Rs 3,200 in the second year, Rs 3,500 in the third year, and Rs 3,000 in the fourth year. Delhi University fees are Rs 7,500 in the first year and Rs 3,500 for the subsequent years. Mess charges are Rs 12,500 for six months, and there are no extra charges for hostel accommodation.
Scholarships are available for reserved categories, including programs like the Post-Metric Scholarship for OBC students with at least 60% marks from the previous year. The college provides an affordable education option, particularly suitable for middle-class families.
