GMC Kozhikode Admission 2024: Courses, Fees Structures, Cutoff, Application Form

Government Medical College, Kozhikode, offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) to the students who want to pursue their career in the field of Medical Science. The duration and intake capacity of the mentioned program is 5.5 years and 250 seats respectively.

The students who have passed 10+2 level or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology are only eligible to seek admission in the MBBS  program. However, the eligible candidates need to appear in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG). The final selection will be made after the counselling conducted after the declaration of NEET UG Results.

At postgraduate level, Government Medical College Kozhikode offers speciality courses like Doctor of Medicine (MD) in various specializations for a duration of two years. The intake capacity varies depending upon the nature of specializations.

Apart from MD program at PG level, the college also offers Master of Surgery (MS) in various specializations for a duration period of two years.

Admission to the above mentioned courses is done on the basis of marks scored in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET PG) conducted by the National Board of Examinations.

The DM program specializes in Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology and Pulmonary Medicine. The other program, M.Ch, is offered in various specializations such as Neurosurgery, Genitourinary Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Thoracic Surgery.

Candidates who have studied and passed MD or MS in relevant discipline are eligible to seek admission in the above mentioned superspeciality courses. However, the candidates need to appear in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Superspeciality Courses (NEET SS) conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).

Candidates who want to pursue Pharmacy after 10+2 level or equivalent may choose Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). The course is of four years in duration and the total intake capacity is 120 seats. Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry and Biology at 10+2 level which is one of the main eligibility criteria.

The college also offers Pharmacy at PG level as Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) which is offered with a duration of two years and the total number of seats available for admission process is 20. For admission in M.Pharm program, the students should have passed B.Pharm in relevant discipline.

Admission to the B.Pharm program is done on the basis of marks scored in Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance test conducted by the Commissioner of Entrance Exam run by the Government of Kerala. For admission to the M.Pharm program, one must appear for Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) conducted by AICTE.

Candidates who have passed 10+2 level examination in any discipline can seek admission in the GNM program while candidates who have passed 10+2 level or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology can seek admission in B.Sc program. The intake capacity is 30 seats and 60 seats respectively.

As far as M.Sc (Nursing) is concerned, candidates can only pursue this program only if he has pursued B.Sc in same or relevant discipline. The total number of seats available for admission is 30 seats.
