Dayanand Medical College Admission 2024: Dates, Courses, Eligibility, Selection Criteria, Application Process

Dayanand Medical College offers Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) to the candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of Medical. The course, thus offered is for 5.5 years including internship.

Admission in MBBS programme is done through NEET UG. Eligible candidates will have to appear in National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by CBSE. Registration for NEET UG can be made from the official website 

The college provides Bachelor of Science degree under 13 different specializations with the duration period of three years.

To get through the B.Sc programme, the candidate needs to be a 10+2 pass out from a recognised institute situated in Punjab and should combinedly have 50 percent in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology along with pass marks in English.

At postgraduate level, the college offers Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS) programmes with various specializations. The duration period for each of the specializations is three years.

Eligible candidates will have to appear in NEET PG conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE). However, in order to meet the eligibility criteria candidates must hold Graduate Degree in MBBS from any recognized university. Registration for NEET PG can be made from the official website

Candidates who want to pursue their career in the field of Nursing can opt for Nursing courses offered by the college. At undergraduate level, Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) and Post Basic B.Sc programmes are offered for four years and two years respectively. The college also offers Master of Science (M.Sc) in Nursing with the duration period of two years.

Admission to the B.Sc (Nursing) course is done on the basis of marks scored in Punjab Para Medical Entrance Test (PPMET) examination and the Post Basic B.Sc programme is through PPBNET. However, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria in order to seek admission.

The college also provides superspeciality courses like Doctor of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (M.Ch). Both the programmes are offered under eight different specializations. All these courses are of a period of three years.

The selection from amongst the eligible candidates in each super-specialty courses shall be made entirely on the basis of marks scored in last qualifying examination followed by personal counselling. However, candidates must hold an MD/MS degree from a recognized university in order to to get admission to these courses.
