Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants have an honors BSc in Biological Sciences or a degree in veterinary medicine or equivalent with a minimum B+ or (77% Ontario equivalent GPA) over the last two years of full-time study.
- Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission in this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- Completed a master’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.

- The University of Guelph does not issue study permits.
- To study in Canada, all students must apply for a study permit, either at the Canadian visa office for their country, at a Visa Application Centre, or online.
- Considered for a study permit, students' application will need to include a letter of acceptance from the University of Guelph, proof of citizenship, and proof of funds for one academic year.
- The University of Guelph and Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) expect international students to have enough funds for the duration of their study in Canada, especially during their first year.
- The issuance of a study permit is strongly based on students' ability to finance their education.
- The study permit is usually issued for the duration of the students’ academic programs.
- Students will not be allowed to register for courses at the University of Guelph if students do not have a valid study permit.
Work Study
- Students must maintain a minimum semester credit weight of 1.5 (1.0 for students with permanent disabilities) or registered in full-time studies for graduate students for the entire length of the Work-Study position.
- Students must be approved for Work-Study by the Student Awards Office before they can apply for jobs through Experience Guelph.
- Students must have a valid social insurance number.
- In order to hold to the integrity and intent of the program, it is recommended that students do not work more than 10-15 hours per week.
- Students are not permitted to hold two Work-Study jobs at the same time.
