The University of Moncton (Universite` de Moncton) is the largest French learning university in Canada offering 165 study programs with over 40 graduate and doctoral programs. The university has offered 53,000 degrees to students so far and students every year take admission in all three semesters.

The admission process for any of the courses offered at the University of Moncton requires students to fill an online application with a fee of 60 CAD. The university follows a bilingual system under which French and English are with most priority. The graduate courses require additional documents and requirements like writing samples, LOR, and SOP. The University of Moncton accepts applications from both Canadian and International students for their fall and winter terms. Applicants must apply for admission within the deadlines. The deadlines for the University of Moncton international admission are given in the tables below.

University of Moncton International Students Admissions

The University of Moncton is accepting applications for its winter and fall 2023 sessions because of the pandemic COVID-19. It accepts international students given that they have fulfilled the necessary requirements for admission. The university offers scholarships to its international students and has the lowest tuition fees among the top Canadian Universities.

Admission Requirements:

  • One official copy of the applicant’s high school records (including official copies of academic achievements and degrees)
  • Official transcripts along with a brief description of the courses taken
  • Non-refundable 160 CAD (for creation and assessment of the student’s records)
  • A bank transfer may be transacted payable to the university.
  • A Study Permit to study in Canada (can be obtained by contacting the Department of CIC)
  • Completed and signed admission form request for the first cycle
  • An average of 65% is required for a French course.
  • The International French Test or TFI can be taken to prove the applicant’s French Proficiency.
  • ​The student should have French knowledge or have taken a course in French at grade 12 level.

Canada Visa for International Students

To study in Canada it is mandatory for international applicants to have a student visa. A Canadian Embassy or consulate issues the temporary resident Visa. The Visa process or applying for a study permit can be summed up by the following steps:

  • After the application is completed, the letter of admission (the proof of official admission to the university) has to be submitted to the Immigration and Citizenship center.
  • The applicant should convince the date of departure (after finishing his or her studies in Canada) to the Visa Officer
  • The applicant might need to hold a visa, if necessary
  • The student visa for Canada application procedure is done at the same time as that of the residence permit.
  • The Canadian Embassy in the applicant’s home country can be contacted for further details about the Visa application. The study permit application can be done at any of the nearest visa offices in the home country of the student.
  • Upon arrival in Canada, the student might be asked to produce the necessary documents such as the IMM 1294 form, valid passport, visa, study permit, and admission letters.

The application process is the same for all students (Canadian or international) and must be done meeting the provided deadlines for submission. The application process for Bachelors or Undergraduate programs is as follows:

The university offers more than 60 graduate programs with the same admission procedure as undergraduate programs. If the applicant has not completed their university studies in French, he or she must demonstrate their French learning skills by taking the TFI, TCF, DALF C1, or TEF assessments and provide the official certificate obtained.
