The Ph.D. Astronomy program consists of eight lecture-based courses (credit may be given for relevant graduate courses already taken), a graduate seminar series, and a research dissertation. Students can pursue original significant research and become world authorities in any of the areas represented by our faculty members. the program offers many opportunities for student interaction with faculty and visiting researchers.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- Successful completion of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Level 6 at the Language Centre, Saint Mary’s University
- Completion of university preparatory English at a Languages Canada accredited school recognized by Saint Mary’s
- Completion of 3 years in a Canadian secondary school where the language of instruction and examination is English
