- Courses and workshops in popular music and in non-western performance traditions, such as South Indian, Chinese orchestra, Indonesian gamelan, Caribbean, West African drumming and Celtic Canadian, are a regular feature of the program.
- York's Sound and Moving Image Library (SMIL) houses a multidisciplinary media collection available to the York University community for educational, research and personal use.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) degree.
- Students must have to complete the following course such as:
- English (ENG4U)
- Five additional 4U or M courses
- A supplementary evaluation is required after students can apply for admission.
- Depending on student’s combined performance in academics, audition, portfolio review, and/or interview, their admission average required for this program is in the mid-70s.
Indian Student Eligibility
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
