  4. They will complete technical courses, present at a conference, and prepare and defend a thesis documenting their research over the course of their two years of full-time study.
  5. Students are typically funded through the duration of their study under various mechanisms offered by the faculty, department, and supervisor.

Completing this program

  • Manufacturing Engineering: Topics may include computer integrated manufacturing, optimization methods with robotics, CAD/CAM/CAE and more.

  • Mechanical Engineering: Topics may include combustion processes, mechanics of compressible flow, instrumentation, mobile robotics and more.

  • Research Seminar: Students present at the annual Mechanical Engineering Graduate Student Conference.

  • Additional Courses: Students complete Numerical Methods for Engineers.

  • Thesis: Students will be required to submit and defend an original research thesis.

  • Pipeline Engineering Specialization: Students wishing to complete the Pipeline Engineering Specialization must include three courses of Pipeline Engineering approved courses with a Pipeline Engineering project.

  1. Upon successful completion of the professional MEng program in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, graduates will have a balance of the fundamental knowledge and practical skills required to work in a wide variety of industries in Canada, and worldwide. 
  2. A thesis-based master’s degree in mechanical engineering will give you the pre-requisite for a PhD.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Bachelor's degree (4-years) from a recognized institution or an equivalent degree from the university.
  • The related fields include a UG degree in Mathematics, Social Science, Statistics, History of Economics, and Political Economy.
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 point system, over the past two years of full-time study (10 full-course equivalents or 60 units) of an undergraduate degree.

Work Experience Eligibility:

  • Students may also be considered who have good research work.
  • For the thesis-based Master's program, admission is offered based on publications, participation in research projects, and academic awards.
  • It typically takes two years to complete, with a maximum of four years.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution
  • Or,  completed a 3-year Bachelor's Degree must hold a Master's Degree.
  • Or, have a CGPA of 8/10 (or 7.5/10 for IITs only).

Submission of GRE scores is compulsory for this program, and it is recommended to submit the scores (minimum 300) for better a chance of admission.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.

You can apply for the M.Eng Chemical and Petroleum Engineering proghram of the University of Calgary if you have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree in chemical or petroleum engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a scale of 4.0. You must submit your official transcripts as well as a copy of your cetificate. International students must also submit a valid ELP test score unless eligible for exemption.

is masters in international relations availaible in UOC? for those who had bacholers in english honours of 3 years and passed 12th with 81 % and also have english and french language proficiency ?

The University of Calgary offers Masters programs in various academic disciplines. However, the university does not offer masters program in International Relations.

Students seeking admission in the MS Data Science of University of Calgary a four-year bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 3.00 on a four-point scale with courses in computer programming, statistics, calculus or linear algebra. International students must have valid ELP test scores.
