Emily Review at Bishop's University [BU], Sherbrooke | Collegedunia

Life from Bishop's University

It was a small school that advertised small class sizes and the ability to work with your professors. You have the chance to know everyone and get a different experience because of this. There are some world-class professors for the politics program as well. They also bring in a lot of speakers and workshops for the students.

Course Curriculum :

So far the course curriculum has broadened my idea and knowledge surrounding politics and international relations.

Exams :

I chose this program mostly because it was smaller, but there was still a lot of work renowned professors. The educational model of the school also allows for you to have classes in multiple disciplines, as long as you complete the minimum required courses for your degree, and this allows you to add a minor or second major anytime

Events :

There are a lot of different types of events that are celebrated in our school. One of the most notable is the Donald Lecture Series. An alumnus has funded for students to have the ability to have lectures by influential people including world-renowned philosophers

Fees :

The tuition is the same for all of the programs, however, it depends on where you live. There are scholarships available from the school, but there is not a vast amount, financial aid is also very hard to get from this school. Out of high school, I was awarded a $1000 scholarship from an individual donor

Examination Structure :

The exam structure varies between programs, but the politics department has a midterm, paper, and a final exam as the structure. The midterm and final are structured the same way, with short answer questions and an essay question.

Faculty :

This school does not have a Masters's or Ph.D. level for students to obtain, but they are affiliated with a lot of schools that do. The ratio is low (the school hasn't released a specific number) with class sizes being really low.

Hostel :

I live on campus and it is awesome! There is a sense of family within the buildings and everyone is extremely close. I live in an apartment-style residence so I don't need to use the cafeteria, but the rent is significantly higher.
