Course Curriculum
This is mandatory for chemical engineers practicing in the oil and gas industry as this course teaches us basic concepts in the oil and gas industry, challenges which are faced by the oil and gas industry and methods to solve industrial problems.
Exams
I took the basic English language eligibility test that is IELTS and I got an overall band score: 7.0
Placement
Placement and job opportunities are fair enough for deserving students who have relevant experience in the related field. The industry generally posts job opportunities when they are available on their website and students can apply online.
Internship
Yes, the university provides internship opportunities to masters as well as undergraduate students. I did not take any internship yet but I am planning to do it next year. The overall stipend is 5000$ per month (approximately).
Events
Lake Louise trip was organized by GSA and it was one of the best trips, Banff trip was the second one. Besides this, we had an annual volleyball and soccer tournament held in January and February this year.
Fees
Fee for International students is 1635$ per course besides an annual fee for the union as well as administrative and service fee which is approximately 500$. Fee for Canadians is approximately 1/3 as compared to international students.
Scholarship
No, I have not availed any scholarship yet as I am not eligible for that. So it?s better luck next time for me.
Examination Structure
It consists of midterm exams, assignments, term papers/ paper critique, lab assessments, and end semester exams. Weight age depends on course to course but it is good to have every part of exam scoring.
Faculty
Well educated faculty with lots of experience and there is diversity in the faculty. They are very friendly and a reminder ready to help the students.
Hostel
Off-campus housing is cheaper and it is good to enjoy the environment outside the university premises too. We get to know a lot more people living in our society which helps in networking better. On-campus housing is expensive.
