Anthony Ngo Review at University Of Calgary [UCALGARY], Calgary | Collegedunia

Recommendable University!

8.5 /10

I chose this school as it was close to my home and very convenient as I got to live at home with my family. Admissions are relatively easy as you submit all the information that they prompt you to submit, and wait until you hear back from them about acceptance. The application fee was fairly standard with other schools, at I believe around $75.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is fairly straight forward and easy. The faculty provides you with a list of what you have to take and your options/electives for personal interest. For required classes, the work is very heavily writing-based, along with direct service practicum where we have to volunteer our time to help out the community.

Exams :

I chose this program because it stood out to me when I was looking up interesting programs. It has become more competitive over the years for high school, so you have to work to earn your place in this small program. As for a bachelor's degree, you have to earn 120 credits which is the standard among all the degrees at the University of Calgary.

Fees :

Tuition averages around $3400 for a full course load (5 courses). You have to pay for student union fees, gym fees, individual courses, a bus pass, and for health and dental insurance. You have the option to opt out of the insurance plans provided you can prove that you have a comparable plan that will keep you safe.

Scholarship :

I applied for scholarships and government financial aid. For scholarships, all you do is submit the application through the school portal and it checks eligibility for pretty much every scholarship there is. Government student loans were done through a government website, which was very easy to use as long as you have basic technology skills.

Examination Structure :

Exam's for courses under this program are very writing-heavy.

Faculty :

I think the faculty is decent, as it's small so you get to know people, but the response time for concerns is a little longer than I would like. The teaching style varies wildly between instructors, as some are amazing and make you really appreciate the program, while others make you consider dropping out.
