The environment was not as competitive as other universities, which I felt would have made me a lot less stressed, and continue to enjoy what I like to do. I also heard the professors are very helpful, for help after class. Most importantly, because my program is relatively small, everyone knows each other, and it makes it a lot easier to network and connect with others during assignments and to study for tests.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is very thorough. It focuses on the details while it will be required in the work field in the future. Certain skills that are tedious are still taught, but not tested on which is very helpful because then the knowledge is not based on a mark, and it is more encouraging to learn.
Fees
The tuition is around $7000 for the year. Additionally, textbooks cost around $1000 per semester. Since I live off-campus, my rent is $475 per month for 12 months.
Examination Structure
The exams depend on the course. However, most of my courses are the short answer since they are math questions. On average there will be 8-10 questions, and we would have 2 and a half hours to complete those. Part marks are also allotted.
Faculty
The faculty has amazing professors who are always willing to help students. They also want to encourage more people to write the external exams and will go beyond the classroom to answer questions or assist with extra study material.
