I applied to Humber college specifically, it being the best in the Ontario for the TESL program, also it’s faculty and proximity to city made it the best choice for me.
Course Curriculum
The programs are a mix of academics and practical aspects, the focus on experiential learning than mugging up, exams are very practical and test the knowledge application than acquisition.
Exams
I had applied for TESL, which is teaching English as a second language, which required me to have more 7.0 in IELTS. I scored 7.5 overall.
Placement
For my particular program, there is not placement offered, however college shares the internship opportunities to us, which is very helpful.
Events
Humber is very supportive to their students, they have a range of facilities- clubs, wellness, counselling, recreation, festival celebrations, and what not.
Scholarship
Not applicable
Faculty
The most approachable faculty to be with, very accommodating and understanding. The ratio is very decent being 1:30, Catherine from TESL , and Stan Arnold from HRM are best teaching professionals I have ever come across.
Hostel
I chose a shared accommodation initially , which costed me 450CAD, but it’s quite difficult to share a room that too small in size so ever since after that I have been living by myself in my personal room which costs me 600CAD, and is steps away from the campus.
