Humber is the only school in Canada that offers a bachelors degree in paralegal studies. I need the bachelors to possibly attend law school in a few years. The program is good and the professors are great.
Course Curriculum
It feels like a law school which I appreciate it. There's a mixture of theory and practical and procedural knowledge. I know how to defend offenses under the POA and file a claim in the small claims court, while also understanding the sources of common law and why they're important.
Fees
The tuition is about $7500 per year. I also lived in a residence which was about $10000. There?s other fees but I'm unsure what they are.
Scholarship
Yes, I get a re-occurring scholarship every semester due to my grades and is automatic. That is the only financial aid I receive besides OSAP.
Examination Structure
Exams are done twice a semester (midterm and final) and are knowledge-based. Some are analytical and provide tea cases or clients and we are permitted to use and bring statutes and case law, simulating real life.
Faculty
Dean and program coordinator have been very accommodating to me and my special circumstances. Professors are all lawyers with at least a masters degree and often judges as well.
