Hemmant Khanna Review at University Of Waterloo [UWATERLOO], Waterloo | Collegedunia

So far, it’s been pretty amazing. Am absolutely in love with the campus and the city as a whole. Super friendly super polite people. Finding the first coop is hard and so is getting through exam season because Waterloo takes exams very very seriously but other than that it’s super chill. These are the only hard parts of the journey but they’re definitely worth it!

I just completed my first year so I can only tell you about what I’ve heard from others. It’s hard to find coops the first couple work terms but once you do, it’s a smooth lane ahead. Batch of super great companies, very helpful alumni network, makes it very easy for everyone

Events

University of Waterloo has one of the most beautiful campuses in Canada. Feels like a city in itself and has everything one can ask for. From indoor and outdoor playing areas to fast food outlets, cafes etc. The campus has 2 libraries, one of which is 10 floors and again, beautiful infrastructure. There are intramurals for those interested in sports and clubs for those into academics. Other than the exam season, life is pretty chill.

Different classes have different ratios. There are lectures and then there are seminars. A lecture based class has one professor for around 120-250 kids while a seminar has one professor for 25

I lived on campus for the first year and I absolutely recommend it to anyone who’s going to a university abroad. Helps a lot with regards to easing in to the new place and building a friend circle. Plus, everything you need is provided already so it’s super convenient. Definitely more expensive than living off campus but for the first year, it’s better to just stay on campus and understand how things work at the uni. Take a year to relax, enjoy and there’s always upper years to move out
